About ResetPls

This policy covers the ResetPls Mac and iOS apps, their widgets and resetpls.app. ResetPls is an independent project maintained by Carlos Rebato, unaffiliated with Anthropic or OpenAI. There is no ResetPls account server or cross-device sync.

What the app reads

When you connect Claude or Codex, the app requests your current usage percentages and reset times directly from that provider. Each device connects independently.

On Mac only, you can grant read-only access to selected local folders for token, activity and API-equivalent cost counters. The app extracts numeric usage information, not conversation content for display or storage. Local credential files are excluded from this optional folder scan. iOS does not read your Mac’s files.

What stays on your device

The app and its widgets share local readings and preferences through their own App Group. This does not send them to another device or to the maintainers.

Network access and third parties

Signing in and refreshing limits involves the corresponding provider. Credentials are sent only to that provider, not to ResetPls infrastructure. The app has no developer-operated analytics, advertising or tracking service.

Claude authorization requests the profile scope. The public Codex client uses OpenID, profile, email, offline-access and connector scopes; ResetPls uses it to request usage counters, not to invoke connectors. The usage endpoints are not documented third-party integration APIs.

Anthropic and OpenAI handle authentication and requests under their own privacy policies: Anthropic and OpenAI.

Demo values are synthetic. Refreshing the app in demo mode does not query a provider or write sample values into your real history. Installed widgets use real account data separately.

Diagnostics and support

Diagnostics are not sent automatically. If you choose to export and share a report, it includes limits, reset times, version and update status, but excludes credentials and conversation content. The destination you choose receives that report. Do not post credentials or conversations in public support issues.

Your choices and stored history

You can connect either provider or both, sign out of each separately and choose whether to grant local folder access on Mac. Signing out removes that provider’s saved authorization from the app; local historical readings may remain. Uninstalling alone should not be relied on to remove Keychain credentials: sign out first.

History is local, not an account held by the maintainers. For help removing local data, contact the project through support.
